- Maintained an Oracle data base that tracked over
55,000 items (over $200 million) of IT and Telecom equipment. Found and
resolved $1.2million in overcharges.

of work documents, client proposals, installation drawings and

maps and site/telecom room drawings. Revised both paper and Visio
drawings to “as-built” status. Rebuilt a junked 4-foot wide HP plotter
to as-new condition to facilitate system documentation, and then
integrated it into the network.

Member of a 12-member team supporting (on a 24x7
on-call on-site field support basis) over 85 sites in the southern half of
California. Environment was a heavily redundant large scale
converged (data / voice / video) network in a multi-vendor distributed environment.
Over 1,200 circuits from 56kb to OC-12(622mb) connected two data centers to
over 450 hospitals, medical offices, call centers and business offices
(30,000+ users). The overall user computing environment was/is mixed Windows,
Unix, Citrix, Sun, Lotus Notes, SQL and Oracle – with over 11,000 servers, KP
has one of the largest Oracle shared database systems in the world.
Group
duties: Field / on-site troubleshooting all network
problems as well as a consistent workload of 70-90 simultaneous IT and
Telecom projects involving infrastructure implementation, maintenance &
support, moves, adds, changes and ECOs. Worked
with the Network Design and Engineering (NDE), Network Operations Center
(NOC), Nationwide Help Desk, Videoconferencing and Telecom (PBX) groups to research,
verify and resolve technical problems. The
on-call rotation had each group member
on-call 24x7 for 2 weeks every six months.
Personal
responsibility included all of the above plus:
- Worked
with network design and operations groups and vendor staff during
project scope definition, topology design, systems implementation and
acceptance testing phases of major infrastructure upgrades at multiple
campuses. Coordinated and monitored implementation of multiple
projects by contractor personnel.
- Created statement of work / scope of work
specifications, change request documents and full project documentation
packages including installation
drawings, cabling and electrical requirements, IP address lists, network / cabling maps and telecom room
drawings (with photos).

Installed a LAN with both PC and Mac clients, a broadband

support.) as three designers and I created ten new web sites (including all
site content). Introduced the concept of off-site
backup tape rotation.

Performed systems analysis, testing,
integration, debugging and support of new Citrix WinFrame / MetaFrame pilot

over 1,500 users nation-wide in a mixed Ethernet 10/100 and Token Ring LAN
environment with an OC3 backbone.

switch and router configuration, the national WAN, tape backups, DNS, WINS,
